Apple’s new gadget will be a smart home display and could be launched in 2026. It will compete with products like the Amazon Echo Show and Google Nest Hub.
China and India have been major markets for Apple, which is one of the world’s largest tech giants, whether it’s selling its gadgets or manufacturing them. In recent years, Apple has rapidly increased iPhone production in India and slowing it down in China. Now, according to a report, Apple is going to manufacture a new gadget, for which it has chosen neither China nor India. This gadget will be manufactured in a third country, where Apple already manufactures many of its products.
What is this new upcoming gadget?
According to a tech portal report, Apple’s new gadget is going to be a smart home display. This 7-inch smart home display will act as a central hub for other devices in the home. It will feature FaceTime and will also support artificial intelligence. The report states that this product was originally scheduled to be launched this year, but the timeline has now been extended to 2026. China’s new smart home display is expected to compete with devices like Amazon’s Echo Show and Google’s Nest Hub.
Where will Apple Smart Home Display be manufactured?
Given the changing geopolitical landscape in recent months, neither China nor India are viable locations for Apple to launch a new product. Reports suggest that the company is expanding its manufacturing in Vietnam, and its upcoming smart home display will also be made there. Although many Apple gadgets are already manufactured in Vietnam, this is the first time Apple is launching a new product line in the country. It is said that by doing this, the company wants to improve its supply chain.
Interestingly, Apple has enlisted the help of the Chinese company BYD to expand its operations in Vietnam. BYD is said to handle the assembly, testing, and packaging of new products in Vietnam. It will also help expand iPad manufacturing. Outside of China, the two markets where Apple has expanded its operations the most are India and Vietnam.
