In 2024, I bought my first home, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. It was a fixer-upper without a doubt, but thanks to some TLC and a lot of work, this house quickly became a home. One thing I didn’t consider when purchasing, however, was the history and the families that came before us. I’m highly asthmatic, and I quickly learned that someone who previously lived in the home had a lot of animals.
Can you imagine how awful it would be to move into a new home, only to find out that it was uninhabitable for you? After rightfully panicking, I realized I needed to take action to make this home future-proof, and I stumbled upon something that literally saved my life. A smart air purifier that didn’t break the bank. After using this for just over a year, I’ve officially become a convert to the LeVoit brand.
The LeVoit VeSync app is great
Easy to use, and full of information that I need
I don’t say this lightly: the LeVoit Vital 200S-P saved my life when we started the move-in process after purchasing our home. It worked so well that I emailed the company to thank them for creating a product that performs as well as it does, and to express the hope that it may have the same positive impact on many other people in a similar situation. I’ve always had issues with asthma and allergies since I was little, and animal dander has been one of the biggest issues since childhood.
One of the best features of the LeVoit Vital 200S-P is the VeSync app, which lets me see the current air quality. If I’m ever feeling like it’s hard to breathe, I can quickly enter the application and see what our current air quality is in the house, and adjust speed, filtration, and anything in between with just a few taps. I can even lock the display so my cats don’t accidentally change the settings on the top of the purifier itself. Keeping everything unified under the LeVoit brand has made life so much easier in this regard.
Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni Review: Delivers on Both Looks and Performance
A premium robot vacuum that delivers on its promises.
It works great, even with “third-party” filters
Smart electronics don’t always play nice with non-OEM parts
Everything keeps going up in price, especially when it comes to things that are going to keep you healthy. In an effort to save a few bucks here and there, I’ve invested in non-OEM filters for my LeVoit Vital 200S, and I’ve come to learn that pet filters work fantastically across the board. I’ve never received an error for using a non-LeVoit-branded filter, and they’ve done the job just as well as the official branded filters in both of the units that I have in my home.
Yes, both filters. After seeing how well this 200S worked in the downstairs portion of the house, I purchased a smaller 100 series for the upstairs to help combat the musty, dusty air of a formerly pet-filled home. It may have taken a little while longer to get fully cleaned, but even the smaller 100 series impressed me more than any other purifier I’ve used in the past.

The LeVoit air purifiers are incredibly easy to use
Even my parents can use it
Technology and my parents don’t exactly go hand in hand. I’ve slowly been introducing them to the world of smart electronics, but more often than not, they tend to go back to their more familiar ways. After seeing my air purifier and seeing how well it worked, however, my mom asked me to help her order one. They’ve had it for roughly a year at this point and have only ever had to ask me a few questions about it, mainly asking if it was on because it was so quiet when they were using it. Now if I could only convince them to stick it out with some other smart home accessories in the future, maybe they’ll see how simplifying their daily lives is worth it.
The app, as mentioned above, is straightforward to use. This has been a tremendous help when it comes to helping them utilize and understand how to use this to its full extent. Plus, they can yell at their Google Home Hub and ask it to turn the fan up if they need it, so they don’t have to turn off the display lock and risk touching something they shouldn’t.
Sometimes, clean air can still trigger a warning
Good thing you can turn off automatic and run it manually
Even the greatest pieces of equipment have their faults, and the LeVoit air purifier family doesn’t escape that. Seeing as this purifier uses infrared scanning to help determine the quality of the air, external forces like humidifiers can trigger a false air quality warning. I learned this the hard way last Winter, when I was in a state of permanent BAD air, due to the humidifier being too close to the purifier. Even though it is a LeVoit-branded humidifier and it is also synced with the VeSync app, it can still trigger these false warnings.
After moving the humidifier to a different room, I have seen fewer warnings about bad air quality and fewer notifications popping up on my phone because of it. But it’s still slightly annoying to get a buzz on my devices because the air purifiers think that humidity is a bad thing in the middle of a cold December day.
Overall, this is one of my best purchases
If you struggle with asthma or breathing issues, I suggest looking into this brand
Asthma attacks are terrifying, and I can’t thank LeVoit enough for making my new home actually inhabitable. I never even considered air quality when searching for homes, but after removing a patch of carpeting and my lungs going into shock because of it, this has become my greatest ally.
I stand by how much the LeVoit air purifiers have increased my quality of life. Or rather, the quality of the air that I’m breathing. Since I’ve put these in my home, I’ve been able to breathe freely. That’s all I can ask, other than warmth and the coziness of having a home of my own. Maybe when I’m feeling a bit more crafty, I’ll try adding a purifier to my HVAC system for extra clean air.
