Xiaomi has launched Mijia by Xiaomi, a new smart home and lifestyle brand, in India with two air purifiers, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact.
The launch marks Mijia’s debut in the Indian market, with air purifiers as the first product category under the new brand. Xiaomi is also reintroducing the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite alongside the new range, taking its air-care portfolio in India to three models.
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is designed for rooms of up to 940 sqft, based on two air changes per hour, according to Xiaomi. The company said it has a Particle CADR of 443 m³/h and a Formaldehyde CADR of 218 m³/h, and can circulate clean air through a 108 sq ft room in about 3.5 minutes under its own test conditions.
Xiaomi said the purifier uses what it described as India’s only PentaClean purification system, a five-stage process combining filtration, activated carbon, UV-C light and negative-ion technology. The UV-C LED is designed to reduce microorganisms on the filter and along the airflow path, while the negative-ion function is switched on by default and can be turned off through the Xiaomi Home App.
The device has a colour display showing PM2.5 and PM1 levels, temperature, humidity and operating status, and can be controlled remotely through the Xiaomi Home App, including scheduling and filter-life monitoring. It supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control, subject to regional availability, and has a Sleep Mode that Xiaomi said runs at about 32dB(A).
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact is aimed at smaller spaces such as bedrooms, study areas and home offices, with coverage of 400 sq ft and above. Xiaomi said its three-in-one filtration system captures 99.97 per cent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, and the device carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification.
The Compact model has a four-colour air-quality indicator running from green to red, and offers Auto, Sleep and Manual modes. It weighs 2.2kg, and Xiaomi said its Sleep Mode operates at 20dB with the display switched off. The company said continuous use at maximum power for 24 hours would consume approximately 0.65kWh of electricity. It is also controlled through the Xiaomi Home App and supports Alexa and Google Assistant.

The first Mijia products in India will be in Air Purifier category. Indoor air quality is an important part of the home environment, and the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact bring a combination of powerful purification, smart monitoring and connected control to different room sizes and use cases.”
Arora added: “Through Mijia by Xiaomi, we remain focused on bringing meaningful technology and a connected experience to more aspects of everyday life, while giving consumers greater choice across the smart home category.”
The reintroduced Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite offers up to 360m³/h Particle CADR and coverage of 269 to 463 sq ft, according to Xiaomi. It uses a three-layer filtration system of a primary filter, high-efficiency filter and activated carbon, also carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification, and has a Night Mode the company said runs at 33.4dB(A).
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 will be priced at ₹19,999, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact at ₹7,999, and the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite at ₹12,999. All three will go on sale from September 2 on mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Xiaomi Retail and Xiaomi Exclusive stores.
