IKEA Unveils 21 New SmartThings-Ready Smart Home Devices

IKEA is doubling down on the smart home in a big way. At CES 2026, the company unveiled 21 new smart home products spanning lighting, plugs, sensors, and remote controls. All of the new devices support Matter-over-Thread, enabling seamless integration with Samsung’s SmartThings platform and making smart home expansion simpler and more accessible than ever.

IKEA’s new smart home gadgets are SmartThings-ready

With over 430 million users, 390 partners, and 4,700 connected devices, Samsung SmartThings is one of the largest consumer IoT platforms in the world. It supports Matter-compatible products, allowing seamless integration with a wide range of gadgets from different brands. IKEA’s new, Matter-enabled smart home devices unveiled at CES 2026 can also be controlled via SmartThings.

Once set up through the SmartThings app, users can add the devices to automations and routines alongside Samsung and other Matter-compatible products. For example, users can dim lights and close curtains when turning on a Samsung TV. IKEA sensors can also work together with Samsung appliances, creating a more responsive and automated living space.

Speaking of which, IKEA debuted five new sensors this week. ALPSTUGA monitors air quality, including carbon dioxide levels, humidity, PM2.5 particles, and temperature, and can work alongside IKEA air purifiers. KLIPPBOK detects water leaks and sounds an alert, while MYGGBETT tracks door and window activity. MYGGSPRAY is a motion sensor for both indoor and outdoor use, and TIMMERFLOTTE measures humidity and temperature.

IKEA also introduced several new remote controls under the BILRESA name. The dual-button version can toggle lights, adjust brightness, change colors, or activate scenes, while the scroll-wheel version allows smooth control of brightness or fan speed. IKEA will also sell remote-control kits that bundle three colorful controllers — either scroll wheels or dual buttons — in beige, red, and green.

Smart lighting also remains a major focus. IKEA’s KAJPLATS bulbs come in multiple formats, including E27/E26, E14, GU10, and decorative clear-glass versions. Buyers can choose between white-spectrum and color-changing options, with brightness levels ranging from 470 lumens up to 1,521 lumens depending on the model. All versions are dimmable and designed to slot easily into existing fixtures.

Rounding out the lineup is the GRILLPLATS smart plug, which lets users remotely control lamps and small appliances. It also tracks energy usage and can be paired with motion sensors or remotes for automation.
