EZVIZ has launched its most expansive Australian range of smart home security and connected living products to date, spanning outdoor and indoor cameras, video doorbells, smart locks and smart home control panels.
Available now through Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi, the range puts a particular emphasis on local storage and reducing the need for ongoing subscriptions. It also introduces EZVIZ’s Always-On Video (AOV) technology across its new battery camera offering, designed to provide more continuous visibility than conventional motion-triggered recording.
The Australian launch is led by the HB90 Dual Kit outdoor camera and EP8 Ultra dual-lens video doorbell, alongside the HB8 Lite outdoor camera, DL50FVX Smart Lock, S10 Smart Video Calling Camera and SD7 Smart Home Control Screen.
Together, the devices form a broader EZVIZ ecosystem managed through the EZVIZ App, giving households the option to start with an individual camera, doorbell or lock and expand the system over time.
A focus on local storage and fewer subscriptions
One of the more interesting aspects of the Australian range is EZVIZ’s approach to storage.
With many smart security platforms increasingly tying cloud storage and some functionality to monthly plans, EZVIZ has built its local camera offering around local storage. Outdoor battery cameras in the Australian retail launch range include a 16GB microSD card at no additional cost.
The company’s Always-On Video technology is also intended to address one of the traditional compromises of battery-powered security cameras: maintaining broader awareness of what’s happening without rapidly exhausting the battery. AOV maintains visual coverage throughout the day before switching to normal-speed recording when relevant movement is detected.
“We believe Australians will see there is a very different proposition behind this range. Our goal is to give consumers sophisticated technology that remains simple to use, while being transparent about how information is handled and giving consumers control over their privacy,” said Jock Jones, Australian Country Manager for EZVIZ.
“Australians have enormous choice when it comes to smart home security, but often that choice comes with ongoing subscription costs and compromises around how and when a camera records. We believe consumers should be able to buy a great security product and immediately access the features that make it useful without feeling locked into a monthly bill, while introducing technologies such as Always-On Video that challenge what consumers should expect from battery-powered home security.”
EZVIZ HB90 Dual 3K Security Camera with Solar Panel
At the top of the outdoor range is the HB90 Dual Kit, a dual-lens outdoor security camera available in battery and solar-powered configurations.
Unlike conventional dual-lens cameras where the wide-angle upper lens remains fixed, the HB90 uses two independently rotating lenses. Both cameras can reposition and work together to cover a larger area, with the dual-lens system delivering 3K resolution.
AI-powered human and vehicle detection can identify activity and trigger automatic tracking, while the second camera can follow movement for a closer view. Other features include full-colour night vision, two-way talk, an integrated siren and strobe light, Wi-Fi 6 and weather-resistant construction.
The HB90 also incorporates Always-On Video and supports local microSD storage, with a 16GB card included as standard.
EZVIZ EP8 Ultra Interactive Video Doorbell
The EP8 Ultra takes a slightly different approach to the increasingly crowded video doorbell market.
Its main 3K camera covers visitors approaching the door, while a second 1080p downward-facing camera monitors the doorstep and package area. AI features include human and package detection, familiar-face recognition and package-removal detection.
Perhaps its most unusual feature is an integrated interactive display that enables two-way video calling directly at the door. The EP8 Ultra also includes colour night vision, True WDR, distortion correction, configurable privacy zones and an AI voice changer designed to disguise the user’s natural voice when speaking with an unfamiliar visitor.
Built-in storage provides local recording without requiring a cloud subscription, while Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa integration are also supported.
EZVIZ HB8 Lite Security Camera with Solar Panel
The more compact HB8 Lite is a battery-powered pan-and-tilt outdoor camera offering 3K resolution and a 360-degree panoramic field of view.
It features AI-powered human and vehicle shape detection, Smart Tracking, full-colour night vision, two-way talk and Always-On Video Mode 2.0. An integrated siren and strobe light provide active deterrence, while microSD storage of up to 512GB is supported. A 16GB card is included.
EZVIZ S10 Indoor Smart Video Calling Camera
Moving indoors, the S10 combines a 2K+ security camera with a video calling device, digital photo frame and Bluetooth speaker.
Its four-inch touchscreen and dedicated call button are intended to make video communication accessible without relying solely on a smartphone, including for children contacting parents or families keeping in touch with older relatives.
The camera provides a 360-degree panoramic view with Smart Tracking, AI human and pet detection, baby-crying detection and IR night vision. There’s also a physical privacy shutter to visibly block the camera when it isn’t required.
EZVIZ DL50FVX Smart Lock
The DL50FVX combines smart locking, biometric authentication and video security in a single front-door system.
Entry options include 3D facial recognition, palm recognition, fingerprint access, passcodes, Bluetooth keys, temporary codes, remote unlocking and a mechanical-key backup.
Biometric data is processed and stored locally, while a built-in camera and four-inch colour display allow users to see and communicate with visitors. IR night vision, human-presence sensing and remote status checking through the EZVIZ App are also included.
EZVIZ SD7 Smart Home Control Screen
Rounding out the range is the SD7, a portable seven-inch touchscreen designed as a central interface for compatible EZVIZ devices.
It provides live viewing and playback from compatible cameras and security products and brings device status and controls together on a single dashboard. Users can view camera feeds, communicate through supported doorbells and manage compatible smart entry products without reaching for their phone each time.
Privacy and security
With connected cameras and biometric devices increasingly finding their way inside Australian homes, privacy is naturally an important part of the equation.
EZVIZ says its security framework incorporates AES and TLS encryption protocols, authentication controls and encrypted storage. Compatible products also offer privacy controls including privacy zones, physical camera shutters and additional authentication and permissions.
Australian pricing and availability
The new EZVIZ smart home security range is available now through Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi, depending on the model.
Pricing starts at $249.95 for the SD7 Smart Home Control Screen and $299.95 for the HB8 Lite, while the EP8 Ultra is $399.95 and the flagship DL50FVX Smart Lock is priced at $1,199.95.
The HB90 range starts at $549.95 for the single dual-3K camera and solar panel package, with two-camera and 4G variants also available.
For Australian consumers looking at a broader smart security setup, the most notable proposition here may be less about any single device and more about EZVIZ’s attempt to combine cameras, access control and a dedicated home interface while keeping core functionality and recording available without another monthly subscription.
