Top computing and networking deals from the Smart Home Tech Show 2025

Looking to buy a new laptop or router? Good news, the Smart Home Tech Show is happening now at Suntec Convention Centre, level 3 and 4. Fortunately for you, I headed down this morning when the show opened to see what deals could be found. Here’s what I found.

The Smart Home Tech Show takes place from 17 to 20 April at Suntec Convention Centre. Level 3 opens at 11am, while Level 4 opens at 12pm. Both floors close at 9pm.
Acer Aspire Lite 15
One of the most affordable laptops I saw at the show was the Acer Aspire Lite 15. It comes with a 15.6-inch Full-HD display and is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. It’s going for S$649 (U.P. S$699)

ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED
If you are looking for a laptop featuring Intel’s newest Core Ultra 2 Series processor, check out the Zenbook 14 OLED from ASUS. This laptop features an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor with 32GB of memory and a generous 1TB SSD. It also has a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display that has a refresh rate of 120Hz. It weighs just 1.28kg and it’s going for S$1,799 (U.P. S$2,199).

ASUS RT-BE92 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router
The RT-BE92 is one of ASUS’ most affordable Wi-Fi 7 routers. This is a tri-band router that has a total data transfer rate of up to 9700Mbps. Its 6GHz band can deliver speeds of up to 5,764Mbps, while the 5GHz band can reach speeds of up to 2,882Mbps. It has a single 10Gbps WAN/LAN combo port, which makes it perfect for users with fast 10Gbps plans. It also has a single 2.5Gbps WAN/LAN port and three additional 2.5Gbps LAN ports. It’s going for S$369 (U.P. S$399) and comes with a free Cat 7 cable and a copy of Monster Hunter Wilds.

Apple MacBook Air (M4)
You can find the new M4 MacBook Air at the show. However, you need to act fast because there are limited units. The 13-inch base model comes with the M4 chip with 16GB of memory and 256GB SSD. It’s going for S$1,389 (U.P. S$1,499). Only 40 units are available at the show, so act fast.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i
One of the most value-packed laptops at the show is the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i. It features a 14-inch OLED display and is powered by the Intel Core 7 240H processor with 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. It’s going for S$1,277 (U.P. S$1,499) and comes with Office 365.

LG gram
There’s a clearance on display sets of the LG gram. There are 14, 15, 16, and 17-inch models on clearance with prices starting from as low as S$999 for the gram 14. This model has a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and is powered by the older Intel Core i5-1340P processor with 16GB of memory and 512GB SSD. You will have to hurry because I was told that there are only a handful of units of each model on clearance.

Netgear Orbi 970 Series mesh networking system
The Orbi 970 series is one of the most high-end mesh networking systems money can buy. This is a quad-band system that has a total bandwidth of 27,000Mbps. To ensure customers can fully maximise all of its performance, it has 10Gbps WAN and LAN ports. Netgear claims a two-pack can provide 6,600 sq. ft. of coverage, while a three-pack extends that to 10,000 sq. ft. A two-pack is S$2,499 (U.P. S$2,799), while a three-pack is S$3,299 (U.P. S$3,799). Every purchase will come with free installation and a free Sonos Ray soundbar while stocks last.

TP-Link Archer GE550
The Archer GE550 was one of the most affordable tri-band Wi-Fi 7 routers we saw at the show. This router delivers speeds of up to 5,764Mbps on its 6GHz band, 2,882 Mbps on its 5GHz band, and 574Mbps on its 2.4GHz band. It also features a single 5Gbps WAN port, a 5Gbps LAN port, and three 2.5Gbps LAN ports. This makes it ideal for users with faster 2.5Gbps and 5Gbps fibre plans. It’s going for S$349 (U.P. S$399).

WD Black SN850X SSD (non-heatsink)
If you are looking for a speedy SSD, there’s the WD Black SN850X. These drives support the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and can deliver sequential read speeds of up to 7,300MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6,300MB/s. It’s available in 1TB to 8TB sizes. Prices are as follows: 1TB (S$145), 2TB (S$259), 4TB (S$489), 8TB (S$1,099).
